Xiaomi has launched MIUI 9 version, this is the latest version of the MIUI custom Android. Read the top features of MIUI 9 and also how and when to download this version.
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi showcased the new version of MIUI 9 at an event in Beijing. MIUI 9 version is based on the Android Nougat 7.0 and comes with main three features 1. Image search 2. Smart assistant 3. Smart app launcher. Even though MIUI 9 version is based on the Android Nougat 7.0, Also the new interface has better resource allocation, quick app launch time and various smarter upgrades.
Xiaomi has also launched Mi 5X smartphone in China today. The company also showcased the new smartphone along with MIUI 9. It also unveiled new Mi AI speaker.
The main new three features in this new OS version is the Image search, Smart Assistant and Smart app launcher. The Image feature search will have the capability to distinguish images by typing in the keywords. The Smart Assistant feature is almost similar to Apple Spotlight. This one enables you to search almost anything on your phone. Just swipe right on the home screen, which will then get the search results as well as app and widgets suggestions. Smart app launcher can suggest apps based on the things present on the display. The latest OS also brings three new themes 1. No Boundary 2. Colour Fantasy 3. Cool Black. Further more, there are many new features which remain to be seen.
Xiaomi says that the users will be able to download the MIUI 9 version from the 11 August. Initial beta version of MIUI 9 has been referred to as a developer ROM this time and this version will be available from the 11 August for download.
Note one thing this is the China Developer ROM and yet there is no information about the Global ROM rollout has been provided. The China ROM and Global ROM have a slightly a different feature set. The first batch of MIUI 9 China Developer ROM will be released for Xiaomi Mi 6, Mi 5X, and Redmi Note 4X.
The second phase of MIUI 9 China Developer ROM rollout will begin on 25 August for the Xiaomi Mi MIX, Mi Note 2, Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 5c, Mi Max 2, Mi Max, Mi 4S, Mi 4c, Mi Note Pro, and Redmi 4X. And in September, the MIUI 9 China Developer ROM will be made available for all other Xiaomi and Redmi devices. All compatible devices to get MIUI 9 update eventually are listed here.
To become MIUI 9 beta tester means that you first need to have one of the above smartphones.First the company will recruit users. MIUI 9 China ROM testing needs its users to have the communication tool QQ installed on their smartphones. You must also be proficient in MIUI and ROMs. Now if you have an eligible smartphone after that you can apply to become beta tester using app called MIUI Global Forum app. On this app, there is a “Recruitment” tab. Here you have to fill all the information related to you and click on the “Submit” button. The company will then reach out to chosen users via Forum PM, in case they get selected for the testing.
